'I Will Never Forget' By philup)

Okay... well, a couple of days ago I started this, but I didn't get around to finishing it, so I think I'll try and do that now... So here goes!

Ten Years ago I was:
Somewhere between my 8th and 9th birthdays. Let's see - I would have ben homeschooling again after a semester of Christian school (at Heritage Christian School in Evansville) which I enjoyed, well, besides my teacher - she wasn't really very nice. I went there becuase it was soon after my mom had her second brain tumor removal surgery and she wasn't sure she could keep up with me right after that. I think that Dana McDonald (now Soma) was living with us at that time. Umm... I had just gotten my glasses and I think I kind of liked them. I think I had just learned how to ride a bike without training wheels! I was into Legos, computer games like Lemmings and Commander Keen, playing games and suff in our fort outside with our neighbors, Jennifer, Melissa (was that her name?), and Mr. Russell. Umm... I could say a lot more, but I won't, for time's sake.

Five Years ago I was:

Somewhere between my 13th and 14th birthdays. Wow - big happenings this year - we moved from Evansville in the summer (of 2000) back to Indianapolis, and I was actually pretty okay/somewhat excited about the move (and I am Sooooooo very glad now that it happened!). Went to Calvin 2000, which was an absolutely fantastic experience for me, hanging out with the southside (and other) 13-14 year-olds pretty much the entire time and getting to know them a bit (since we had just moved to Indy a few weeks prior to Calvin). The main people I remember haning out with were (in no particular order) Ross and Rory, Eleni, Christy, Katie, Kevin, John, Ashley, Alissa (me 'cuz) and I'm sure a few others. That was really fun. Hmm, so this year was definitely a year where I began to change - in my thinking and acting (and appearance ) and things - I had kind of been decently rebellious and hadn't the best of friends in Evansville, but in Indy, I definitely had some good peer pressure. Umm... I kind of was shy for a while after we moved here... didn't really have much in the way of friends for a bit, other than a couple of neighbors, but I did alright... Uh, this year I was homeschooled and I think this was the year I started getting bad about procrastinating... etc.

One Year ago I was:

Well, 17 I guess, and I was into my first year at IUPUI. Had a really great ASL class then, which I thouroughly enjoyed and 'twas very cool 'cause pretty much everyone in the class got to know everyone else in the class... I was enjoying my last year in YG and in CYPU events. And I could say other things, but I won't. (most of you knew me then anyway)

Yesterday I was:

(Well, I started this Wednesday, and since I had a really good day Tuesday, I'll go with my yesterday being Tuesay, not that my Thursday was horrible, mind you, but still.) in the midst of having a really good day. So, I woke up for my first day of the work week (I work Tues. - Sat.) at my usual time, 3:35, and I went to work (on the way there reading on my cell phone a message left for me, which was really nice to receive), work went fine and at the end of the day we got Krispe Kreme for getting a higher percent of scanned (and not missed) packages at FedEx (explanation: We are right now, in the 4th week -last round starts tomorrow- of a contest between all the midwest FedEx's, and we've won every week -thus getting doughnuts as a prize- and if we win one more week, all the morning shift people will get to go out to eat at Golden Corral for free sometime!).
After work, I took a nap, then went to school and took a test (History of Education - haven't gotten it back yet, but I think I did pretty well), and then did various things until my next class (European History from 1300 on), and in that class our prof. spoke of many things, and one of the thinge he lectured on was a man named Simon, who I gues was a monk and found some apparent discrepancies in the Bible, such as Matthew not written by Matthew, the world not being able to be created only in 4004B.C. or so, etc. A reason my professor said for the Bible not being true was that there are no dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible, and the 'fact' that the Egyptian and Chinese histories go back thousands of years (8,000 - 10,000B.C. I think it was).
ANYways, so I went up after class, and after a couple of s asked him if it was really possible for someone to die from their bladder exploding (he shared about a guy who died b/c he didn't want to be impolite and get up from the King's -of France, I think- table during a feast, and from the waiting, his bladder 'sploded! And he died a few days afterwards from infection.), I told him that I had a comment and then I told him that there were actually dinosaurs in the Bible, and he was like "No way - it's impossible for dinosaurs to be in the Bible because they existed like 180million years ago!" (and I'm wondering, well then, how is that proof that the Bible isn't true because there aren't dinos in it??), but so I said "I can show you." And he asks, "Right here, right now?" and I say yup and pull out my handy Bible (Btw, if you don't carry a Bible on your person, you really should! It's nice to have) and turned to Job 40 and showed him the verses about he behemoth (sp), to which he responded that it could've just been an elephant (with a tail like a ceder??), and I said, well, maybe, but I think it could possibly be a dinosaur as well, so anyways, we ended talking out of the building and out to his car, about religion and post-modernism, and it's relavence in society, and problems with deductive reasoning, etc. for probably 10,15 minutes, so that was pretty cool - when we got to his car (a yellow Mazda Miata convertible, btw), he offered me a ride, but I was going south and he north, so I declined, but he thanked me for the good conversation, and I thanked him, and we parted ways.

Wow - that was long - I'll make the rest short so then I had a very good supper that night, and other things, and also 'twas a very nice day that day as well. So that was my 'yesterday.'

Five Food Things I Enjoy:

- Various ice creams with various toppings.
- Beef Jerky!
- Chicken w/various seasonings and spices (such as, but not limited to, seasoned salt, lemon pepper, peppery mustard seasoning)
- Aldi's frozen pre-cooked sausages (in flavors of regular, spicy, and maple flavors) with syrup!
- Reese's pieces
(and much more)

Five songs I Know all the Words to:

- In The Middle, In The Middle, In The Middle by They Might Be Giants
- Bangs by They Might Be Giants
- Letting The Cables Sleep by Bush
- Another Perfect Day by American Hi-Fi
- Psalm 102A
(again, and more)

Five things I would do with $100,000,000:

- I would give a bunch of it to the church and the denomination as a whole, and to various other charities and organizations.
- I would buy a nice island (and a plane or helicopter to get there) with a really nice house and other things (boats, recreational activities, etc).
- I would give some to my family and to friends.
- I would invest some and put some in the bank.
- I would buy another house, again very well equipped (I think I would like a rotating house on a mountain or hill somewhere - I've seen blueprints for such a house!) with things like a couple of Dodge Vipers in the garage, as well as a motorcycle or two, and a big van or bus and stuff to use to 'trick it out' - I've always wanted to do this! (If you are a faithful and longtime reader, you will/may remember my post on this) Among other vehicular devices! And don't forget a Flybar 1200 pogo stick (someone bounced this thing more than 8 feet high!!!) and a really nice sound system, pool, athlitic facility, really big and nice yard w/woods, stream, etc, and many other options which I won't mention! -ooh, one more thing, since it'll be on a mountain/hill, I think I'd like a ski/snowboard lift and a place to do that when it's snowy!

Five Places I would Run Away to:

- My afforementioned island.
- My afforementioned house.
- My friends houses in Indianapolis (as I sadly will not have a home there pretty soon!).
- My van (or rather my parents) or car.
- Oz!!! (Australia)

Five things I would Not Ever Wear:

- A skirt (tho I'd definitely wear a kilt!).
- 'Cocky' shirts (or with blasphemous, unuplifting writing, etc).
- Y'know... there's not a whole lot I wouldn't wear...
- Umm... stuff that's very uncomfortable (at least not for long).
- Uh... nothing (not in public at least).

Five Favourite Television Shows:

- I like Malcom in the Middle.
- I like the Simpsons.
- I like Sponge Bob Square Pants.
- I like Firefly.
- I like March Maddness (not exactly a show, but it works?)!

Five Greatest Joys:

- The fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins, when he was completely , and that I am able (and do have) a personal relationship with him.
- My family!
- My Friends!
- Animals (of various shapes and sizes)!
- The little things in life...

Five Fictional People I would Date (How about go on a date with, or be friends with... and I guess maybe actually date...):

- When I was little, I had a big crush on Jasmine (I was jealous of Aladdin!) (Hehe - maybe I shouldn't admit this...).
- Gudrin from the book 'The Castle in the Attic' and 'The Battle for the Castle' which are both by Elizabeth Winthrop (good books).
- Gertie from the book 'Gertie's Green Thumb' and I don't have it right here so I can't tell you the author.
- Tashwana Colach from the Nathan T. Riggins Western Adventure Series books. Oh wait... she's actually a real person... but it's historical fiction, so that's alright, right?
- I'm trying to think of someone from a movie... and I can't think of a good example of one... so I'll just get back to this one when I think of a good one!

*Whew!*

So did I skip any questions, guys? If I did, let me know... Oh!

I still have to tag people! Wellllll....

Five People I Tag to do This:

- Amy (James) - I'll try to get everyone here's links up soon.
- I'm going to re-tag Laura, 'cause she needs to do it!
- Has Mary R. done it? (she probably has been tagged, if so I missed it...)
- Abby! (Treese) Heh... I think a tag of Elder would be pretty much useless...
- Ian (hehe - I hardly know you... but oh well. )

Well, God Bless, Everyone!

Edwin Allen

song of the post:

This is actually not what I am (or rather was) listening to, but Matchbook Romance, who sings:
"Tiger Lilly"

quote of the post:

Anonymous, who says:
"Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday."

verse of the post:

Job 40: 15 - 24, which says:
15 "Look now at the *behemoth, which I made along with you;
He eats grass like an ox.
16 See now, his strength is in his hips,
And his power is in his stomach muscles.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar;
The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.
18 His bones are like beams of bronze,
His ribs like bars of iron.
19 He is the first of the ways of God;
Only He who made him can bring near His sword.
20 Surely the mountains yield food for him,
And all the beasts of the field play there.
21 He lies under the lotus trees,
In a covert of reeds and marsh.
22 The lotus trees cover him with their shade;
The willows by the brook surround him.
23 Indeed the river may rage,
Yet he is not disturbed;
He is confident, though the Jordan gushes into his mouth,
24 Though he takes it in his eyes,
Or one pierces his nose with a snare.
